"Today the inflow of foreign investment in Italy it is crucial to give an innovative stimulus to the recovery of production and employment: not only for the contribution of fresh capital, but for the contribution of people and ideas, production and organizational models, new technologies and systems. The Italian economic and industrial panorama benefits greatly in terms of diversification and competitiveness". These are the words with which the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, greeted the participants in the conference on the promotion of foreign investment in Italy organized by Confindustria.

The Head of State underlined that it is the task "of public institutions to promote policies capable of attracting the investments the country needs and to remove the regulatory and administrative inadequacies that prevent Italy from acquiring such significant potential resources".
