Naples on the run, Juve ko with Lazio

SERIE A CHAMPIONSHIP – Sarri's Napoli conquers the Olimpico by beating Roma with a great goal from Insigne and extending their leadership in the standings to +5 also thanks to the knockout that Lazio inflicts on Juve, defeated at home after more than 700 days from a brace from the implacable Immobile – Simone Inzaghi ousted Allegri.

Napoli escapes, Juventus collapses. The championship starts again with two very heavy results which consolidate the Azzurri's first place and force the Bianconeri to question themselves about problems that were almost unthinkable until a few weeks ago. Not only that: Saturday's advances send Lazio into orbit to be considered great in all respects and resize a Rome that is still too fragile for the definitive leap in quality. Two clues aren't enough to give it a try, so while waiting for next Saturday's match against Inter, there's no need to indulge in excessive triumphalism, but it is certain however that this Napoli can no longer be considered up there by chance. Sarri's team took to the field with the pressure to win so as not to waste the bonus given to them by Lazio: at one time they would not have been able to manage it, yesterday they did it as a great team, winning a difficult and dirty match, one of those that at the end of the season they can be worth much more than 3 points. Insigne's goal came early (20'), then management of the game and result, just as it concerns a leaders. The result is a very heavy 0-1, which is worth a +5 on Juve and the clear awareness of being now ready for the Scudetto. Roma, on the other hand, surrenders and, at least for now, pushes away the ambitions of winning: the difference with Napoli is too clear and this regardless of a result in the balance until the end, which could also have changed for the better with a pinch of luck in more.

Similar speech for Juventus: in fact, they too could have at least drawn, yet no one considers Lazio's victory undeserved. Inzaghi's team, coincidentally in Marotta's sights for a black and white tomorrow, didn't get the upper hand only thanks to the episodes (above all the penalty missed by Dybala in full stoppage time, but also a post by the Argentine himself and a crossbar by Higuain ) but also for an exemplary tactical organization, superior to that of a Juve who are much stronger in singles but less in team. The Biancocelesti didn't let themselves be intimidated by Douglas Costa's goal (23') and at the right moment they struck with Immobile, cold in beating Buffon first on a counterattack (47'), then on a penalty he got himself (54') . Juventus defeated at home (it hasn't happened since August 2015) and 5 points from the top: it's not yet the case to talk about a crisis, but certainly there is something not going as it should. “We have lost 5 points in the last two games, we have not yet understood that if we want to win the Scudetto we have to fight – Allegri commented bitterly. – We have to work on voltage drops and struggle every day, we have no alternatives”. The mood at Lazio is very different, where the Champions League dream is increasingly becoming a concrete goal. “This is a historic feat, the lads were extraordinary – said Inzaghi. – Now, however, we remain serene, it is right to enjoy this victory but also to remember that only 8 games have passed".
