MV Agusta: Girelli new executive vice president, with an eye on the stock market

The Varese brand, strengthened by the results obtained, is aiming for a leap in quality by recruiting Giorgio Girelli as the new executive vice president. The plan envisages, over the next 3 years, the doubling of sales and listing on the Stock Exchange.

The motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta Motor is ready for the dimensional leap and to propitiate further growth it is equipped with a top-level management. In fact, the appointment of Giorgio Girelli as new executive vice president of the company was announced.
Girelli, 53, has more than 15 years of experience in management consulting with Roland Berger, and most recently successfully led Banca Generali as CEO and President, managing its IPO in 2006.

"The entry of Giorgio Girelli into the board of directors of MV Agusta is the beginning of a path aimed at further growth, especially in high-potential foreign markets - commented the chairman Giovanni Castiglione - Girelli brings to the company unique and precious, combined with a sincere passion for motorcycles and for the MV brand. In the next 3 years we can aim to double sales, with an adequate capital structure, and we are convinced that the outcome could be a listing on the Stock Exchange”.

The Varese-based company is experiencing a phase of strong expansion: sales increased by 86% and turnover by 49,5% in 2012, with the launch of two new 3-cylinder models. In 2013 the growth trend was confirmed in two figures, with the introduction of two more 3-cylinder models and the new 4-cylinder F4 and Brutale 1090, as well as the debut in the Motard segment with the Rivale 800.
