Mortgage loans, according to the Crif barometer, demand has collapsed by 42% compared to 2011

The data is revealed by the Crif barometer, which specifies that the overall contraction in the first half of the current year is equal to -44% compared to the first 6 months of 2011.

The mortgage market is at its peak: the demand for mortgage loans in fact collapsed in June by 42% compared to the same month last year. The data is detected by the Crif barometer.

The aggregate demand recorded on Eurisc, the Crif credit information system which collects data relating to over 78 million credit positions, also highlights a overall contraction in the first half of the current year equal to -44% compared to the first 6 months of 2011.

In the last year, the dynamics of the demand for residential mortgages by households, Crif underlines, “has shown a progressive slowdown, reflecting the worsening of both the climate of confidence and the prospects on the residential property market. They may have also contributed to discouraging the request for home financing the increase in interest rates applied to new contracts, the introduction of the Imu in addition to the tightening of the granting criteria deriving from the funding difficulties on the part of the credit institutions”.

The umpteenth worrying demonstration of a still fragile economic situation which, according to experts, continues to have a heavy impact on credit to Italian households.
