Archive the Regional, which sanctioned the victory of the candidates of the Democratic Party in 5 regions out of the 7 that went to the polls (even if the majority party loses ground both compared to the last regional ones and compared to last year's Europeans, and records the growth of the Northern League and Movimento 5 Stelle), now it's the counting of the Municipal authorities. Of the 742 Municipalities that went to vote, 512 were from ordinary statute regions (of which 12 were provincial capitals), then 10 from Friuli Venezia Giulia, 167 from Sardinia and 53 from Sicily.
The largest Municipality, on which the Democratic Party focuses most attention, is Venezia, where the candidate elected with the primaries, Happy Casson, is currently ahead after the scrutiny of the first sections. After less than 10% of seats counted, Casson leads with 36%, ahead of centre-right candidate Luigi Brugnaro with 28,6%. Movimento 5 Stelle stopped at 14% with Davide Scano. However, the challenge seems destined for the ballot (which in the Municipalities, unlike what has been seen for the Regions, exists and is scheduled between two Sundays). Among the other voting capitals, the elbow-to-elbow battle in Arezzo between the candidates of the center-left and center-right, Matteo Bracciali and Alessandro Ghinelli, both around 42% (the 5 Stars are very low). Instead oriented towards the center-left (but hardly in the first round) Mantua, Macerata and Lecco.
