Fines: cheaper home banking

Those who pay the fines within 5 days of the issue are entitled to a discount equal to 30% of the total amount. The banking decree definitively approved yesterday by the Chamber of Deputies establishes an important novelty that will be appreciated by many Italian citizens.

In the event that the fine is paid via home banking, the days available to take advantage of the 30% reduction increase from 5 to 7.

The change was implemented due to an interpretation of the discount rule which considered the validity of the date on which the payment was credited to the institution and not on the date on which it was made. Too bad that in the case of wire transfers, the two deadlines do not match. By virtue of what has just been said, the legislator has decided to amend the rule, establishing that "for payments other than those in cash or by postal current account, the releasing effect of the payment occurs if the credit in favor of the administration takes place within 2 days after the payment due date.

In other words, if you pay online through your bank, 30% will have one week to access your account.
