Fines and car tax: the amnesty cancels them up to 1000 euros

The cancellation will concern debts entrusted to collection from 2000 to 2010 and will also include local taxes. Those who have already paid, however, will have to resign themselves: no refund is foreseen.

Fines and car tax: the amnesty cancels them up to 1000 euros

The government does not want to hear about amnesties, much less amnesties. Better, according to the deputy premiers Luigi Di Maio and Matteo Salvini, to talk about fiscal peace. But what matters are the results and among these there will be the automatic cancellation of the tax bills on fines and car tax up to a total sum of one thousand euros.

It reveals it The sun 24 hours, according to which the measure will be included in the tax decree connected to the Budget manoeuvre. The hypothesis supported by the League on the launch of a maxi amnesty for figures under one million euros therefore seems to have definitively faded. In the attic also the fiscal peace for sums under 100 thousand euros.

In fact, the draft text provides that taxpayers with a maximum debt of one thousand euros - the sum includes both principal and interest and penalties - accrued between 2000 and 2010 will be able to benefit from a total cancellation of the outstanding debt. No one will have to do anything, the procedure will take place automatically. It will be directly the collection to tear, one by one, the folders by the end of this year.

Also to be taken into consideration is the fact that the amnesty will not only concern fines entrusted to Equitalia in the first ten years of the new millennium, but also other local taxes, such as car tax, ICI and the waste tax.

And who has already paid what is due? He will have to resign. In fact, no refund of the amounts already paid is foreseen.

The measure should cost the State more than 500 million euros, which will also have to reimburse the collection bodies for the costs incurred in the debt recovery procedures.
