Alessandro Profumo opens the door to the sale of Banca Montepaschi. The president of the Sienese bank, speaking at a conference organized by the Financial Times: “For me the key objective remains that the bank is well managed. Being bought by someone else is not a problem”.

Profumo, who denied having had contacts for a possible merger, clarified that Mps “has the dimension to remain independent. Anyone who wants to buy the bank is welcome, even if I don't think it will happen for 100%". The main objective of the Sienese institute, according to its president, is to carry out the capital increase.

Meanwhile, in the late morning the Mps share gained 0,69% in Piazza Affari, in the wake of the very positive trend of the Italian stock exchange.
