The Montepaschi Group takes first place in mobile banking. This is the response of Of-Osservatorio Finanziario, which gave the Sienese institute the primacy in the debut edition of the mobile report. Montepaschi obtained recognition with “Paskey for iPhone”, the application specifically designed for mobile banking and viewable from an iPad, and with “mobile.mps.it”, the site usable via browser from smartphones of all operating systems, including Android and Windows Phones.
The motivations - According to the Of-Osservatorio Finanziario report, Montepaschi's application is fast and efficient, with intuitive graphics and simple navigation. In addition, from the pages of the application it is possible to consult the balance and the list of the latest movements made by all the open current accounts, as well as obtain information relating to the history of the operations carried out. You can consult the operations, the residual balance and the movements of the prepaid cards and check the performance of the stock exchanges. Furthermore, always on the move, transfers, payments, account transfers, and top-ups of mobile phones and prepaid cards are available, as well as operations for the sale of shares, ETFs, closed-end funds, bonds, warrants and government bonds on the Italian market.
The application and the numbers – Montepaschi's application ranks in the average compared to the other offers on the market in terms of information services and activated devices. But – according to Of's report – obtains the highest score on the security front by virtue of the different methods of use to obtain access and to authorize dispositional operations. Through the OTP (One Time Password) generated by the key, or sent by the Bank via email or text message, the Bmps system is the safest system currently on the market. After all, 2011 was the year of furniture. Montepaschi recorded a 200% year-on-year growth in mobile banking-related activities and, between information and instructions, recorded a total of 1.700.000 mobile transactions.
The report - In its report, the OF analyzed 10 applications from as many credit institutions for a year, choosing applications aimed at retail customers for the analysis. Were analyzed "apps" for iPhone, iPad, Android and mobile sites optimized for mobile viewingwhere available. The analysis was based on 53 observation points, divided into 4 macro categories: fast bank, friendly bank, complete bank and secure bank. Banca Veloce analyzes the mobile applications made available by the bank and judges the graphic quality, the speed of loading pages and execution of operations and the presence of crashes during loading. Banca amica concerns the information accessible from the app; complete bank contains evaluation elements on disposition and payment operations; finally, a double score was assigned to safe bank, i.e. to the activated security options. And in this last aspect, the Montepaschi Group has proved to be at the top.
