MPS, ABI meeting underway to decide on Mussari's succession

It is currently being held in Rome the presidential committee of the Abi, in the presence of representatives of the big banks and the president of MPS Alessandro Profumo, to discuss the appointment of the successor to Giuseppe Mussari, who resigned after the outbreak of the MPS scandal, at the helm of the Italian banking association.

Probably, today's meeting will be followed, shortly after the post, by the meeting of the executive committee to carry out the research on the new president, with the aim of concluding it before the general elections on February 24th.

Mussari had been placed at the helm of the ABI as an expression of the big banks, in an agreement which provided that the next mandate, starting from July 2014, would have been an expression of small and medium-sized institutions. The most accredited name for the succession is, at the moment, that of Antonio Patuelli, president of the Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna.
