Mps and Nomura: Milan prosecutor's office requests indictment for former top management

The magistrates responsible for the investigation into the Alexandria operation have requested the indictment of Giuseppe Mussari, Antonio Vigni and Gianluca Baldassarri, former heads of Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Sadeq Sayeed, former CEO of Nomura International, Raffaele Ricci and the two credit institutions.

The request for indictment for the former leaders of MPS and Nomura comes from the magistrates of Milan Francesco Greco, Giordano Baggio, Stefano Civardi and Mauro Clerici at the end of the investigation into suspicious transactions developed by the past management of MPS.

The investigation, started by the Siena prosecutor's office, had been transmitted for territorial jurisdiction to the Milan prosecutor's office which investigated the Alexandria operation between MPS and Nomura. The investigations, closed at the beginning of April, led to the request for indictment for the former leaders. The disputed crimes are market manipulation and false accounting in relation to the 2009 accounts of MPS, approved in 2010, in which a loss of over 300 million euros was allegedly concealed.
