Mps closes the first half of 2011 with growing revenues and stable profits

Monte dei Paschi di Siena closed the first half of the year with growth in revenues and operating profit and with profits in line with the same period of 2010. The Sienese bank gained market share and in the first six months it conquered 32 thousand more customers.

Revenues and operating result growing and profits in line with last year: this is the summary of the first half of Monte dei Paschi which strengthens its assets and conquers new customers and market shares.
In the first six months of 2011, the Sienese bank led by Giuseppe Mussari improved its revenues by 5,1% and its net operating result (611,6 million) by 26,3%. In six months, Mps has conquered 32 new customers, increasing its market share. Compared to the same period last year, net profits (261,4 million) are stable.
The capital ratio has been strengthened following the recent capital increase which brought the Core Tier 1 to a security level of 9,5%. 
Both deposits (+5,4%) and loans (+2,9%) grew.
