Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone, a Roman builder, financier and publisher, responds to the Ops launched Unicredit on Bpm bank rounding up its shareholding in the Monte dei Paschi of Siena (Mps). From 3,5% of Ps, purchased during the recent placement of the Mef, rose to over 5% according to communications from Consob. The operation took place on November 26, the day after Unicredit's move that disrupted the balance by wiping out the previous hypotheses of a third banking hub between Banco Bpm, Anima and Mps. Caltagirone, according to Consob, also has long positions with physical and cash settlement, to acquire another 0,548% of Mps and thus increase his participation.
