Will Moratti return to Inter? The rumors and the denial

Some loves never end. Like the one between the family Moratti (and Massimo above all: the epitome of the president in love) and Inter. Yes, because a year and a half after the sale of the majority stake in the Nerazzurri to Erick Thohir, Moratti, according to the rumors relaunched by the Gazzetta dello Sport, would be thinking of taking back theInter, or at least to try, even if Moratti has already denied the rumours: “There is no possibility that he can get Inter back. There is none of it true. I support Erick Thohir and hope he does well. There are the conditions because he is sacrificing himself a lot ”.

Despite the usual denials, the rumors continue to circulate. To get back in the saddle, the former patron would be looking for partners, among which the names of another former Inter president stand out, namely Ernesto Pellegrini, and Marco Tronchetti Provera, but above all it would be trying to channel foreign capital into the operation, above all from Great Britain and the United States. Finally, Moratti is also considering the possibility of resorting to a form of popular shareholding, thus also involving the fans in the investment.

A resounding voice, but surprising up to a certain point, in the light of the incredible love that the former Inter boss has always shown for the team that belonged to his father, and that Moratti the son has brought, thanks to Jose Mourinho, up to the heights of the Treble, reached after a decade of abundant investments in vain and uselessly pharaonic acquisition campaigns.

After the incredible 2010 season, however, and after the farewell of the Special One, Inter seemed to have returned to that of the 90s, a giant always doomed to defeat, and Moratti, slowly, had turned off the taps, until upon assignment a Thohir, which was supposed to finally revive the team.

A relaunch which, however, does not seem to have taken place, despite the red balance sheets and the heavy investments of the Indonesian tycoon who, faced with ever more impressive expenses and increasingly disappointing results (in all probability Inter will not play in the European cups next season) could also decide to fold. For now it's just a rumor, moreover denied, we'll see if it should be something more than an April storm.
