Monti: "Accounts healed, investors return to Italy"

The Premier in Dubai: "With a budget deficit of less than 3% this year and structural equilibrium in the next, Italy's public finances are sound" - "Growth potential" unlocked thanks to reforms that "are worth 4 for the OECD points of GDP in 10 years”.

Monti: "Accounts healed, investors return to Italy"

"With a budget deficit of less than 3% this year and structurally balanced next, (meaning a primary surplus of 5%), Italy's public finances are sound“. The premier said so yesterday Mario Monti, speaking in Dubai, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at a meeting with the business and financial world of the United Arab Emirates and Italy.

Monti added that “the same can be said for the eurozone as a whole, unlike what occurs in the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan. The markets have begun to realize this and investors are returning to Italy“. In this case the reference is probably to two billion euro joint venture between the Italian Strategic Fund (FSI) and Qatar Holding.

According to the Professor, our country has greater profit margins thanks to its "growth potential" unlocked after more than a decade by the government's structural reforms, which "for the OECD are worth 4 points of GDP in 10 years".
