“Money, banks and territory”: economists' conference in Ancona in honor of Pietro Alessandrini

CONFERENCE IN ANCONA IN HONOR OF PIETRO ALESSANDRINI – The leading Italian economists gather on Thursday at the Faculty of Economics in Ancona to celebrate Pietro Alessandrini, a well-known pupil of Giorgio Fuà, who leaves his chair – Participants are Fratianni, Bini Smaghi, Savona, Messori, Nardozzi, De Bonis, Coltorti, De Censi, Paolazzi, Giannola, Ferri, Roncaglia.

Money and Europe, banks and the territory: around these themes that characterized his long and brilliant career as a scholar and academic, a conference entitled “ Money, banks and territory” in honor of Pietro Alessandrini, who was a pupil of Fuà and who held the chair of Monetary Policy for many years, enlivening public and scientific debate.

The elite of Italian economists will speak at the conference (Ancona, Piazzale Martelli 8, Sala del Consiglio of the Faculty of Economics, 9.30-19). The initiative was promoted by the Marche Polytechnic University, the Department of Economic and Social Sciences, the Money and Finance Research Group and the Italian Society of Economists.

After the opening speech by Sauro Longhi, Gian Luca Gregori and Francesco Chelli, the first round table on the theme 2International money” will be introduced by Michele Fratianni with the participation of Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, Giovanni Pittaluga, Andrea Presbitero and Paolo Savona.

The second round table of the morning will be on the theme "Money and Europe" with an introduction by Luca Papi and the participation of Riccardo De Bonis, Marcello Messori, Giangiacomo Nardozzi and Giovanni Verga.

In the afternoon "Banks and the territory" will be the theme of the third round table, introduced by Alberto Zazzaro, with the participation of Pietro Busetta, Fulvio Coltorti, Giovanni De Censi and Giovanni Ferri.

The fourth and final round table on "The useful economist" will be opened by Alberto Niccoli and will see the participation of Stefano Casini Benvenuti, Adriano Giannola, Pietro Marcolini, Luca Paolazzi and Alessandro Roncaglia.

After the debate, Pietro Alessandrini will conclude.
