Rugby World Cup: New Zealand beats France in the final and takes the title back home

This time they did it. After 24 years of disappointment since the last (and only) world triumph, the ultra-favorites All Blacks take the title back home.

Un expected triumph, which looks like a photocopy of the title 1987: home edition and final against France. At the time, however, the result was clearer (29-9), this time instead the roosters scare until the last breath: it's only one point that makes the difference (8-7 the final result), with one goal each and a very balanced match, which actually saw Les Bleus dominate the entire second half in search of an overtaking move that never came. To the delight of the 50 Eden Park and an entire nation, shaken by the Christchurch earthquake a year ago and which makes rugby a real religion, so much so that it experiences moments of true collective desperation in the event of defeats.

But this time it's not harakiri: the haka triumphed, the victims of Christchurch have been honored, and a whole nation can finally unleash its joy.

Honor to France anyway, very unfavorable on the eve, which however holds its own in a big way. The regret of a world title lost by one point will remain.

Chronicle of the final. Courageous start for France, but after 15 minutes the New Zealand prop Woodcock scored in a try after a touch-out 10 meters from the French goal line. In the second half everything in 7 minutes: Donald's kick in the fifth minute, which will prove to be decisive for the result, and immediately after Dusautoir's try converted by Trinh-Duc. From then on, it is siege France. But that's not enough.
