Freediving World Championships: 18 medals for the Azzurri

Excellent performance by the Azzurri at the Indoor Freediving World Cup organized by FIPSAS. Six specialties are scheduled: Dynamic Apnea without Gear, Speed ​​Apnea 100 m, Static Apnea, Endurance Apnea 16×50 m, Dynamic Apnea with Fins and Dynamic Apnea with Monofin, for a total of twelve podium finishes, six for men and six for women. The Italian team, led by Monica Barbero, proved to be the true star of the event, taking first place in the final medal table with 18 medals: 5 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze.

The queen of freediving has confirmed, for the umpteenth time, Alessia Zecchini, who won three golds and set as many world records. One for each of the competitions you have entered. However, all the athletes of the Italia Apnea Team proved to be very good, who managed to monopolize three female and one male podiums with Andrea Vitturini, gold in dynamic apnea with fins and record with 226 metres.
