Fashion, Liu-Jo buys Blumarine: wedding in Carpi

Exceptional wedding in Italian fashion. Liu-Jo has acquired 100% of Blufin, the group that owns Blumarine. The news was announced on November 12 by Marco Marchi, founder and president of Liu-Jo, who a few weeks ago defined Blumarine as "the dream of every Carpigiano". What makes this acquisition special is the fact that both companies come from Carpi (Modena).

With this operation, a new holding is born, called "Eccellenze Italiane", which will bring together high-end brands inside.

“With this acquisition – says Marchi – mine takes shape entrepreneurial dream of aggregating Italian excellence and launching them into global competition. In a rapidly evolving market, consumers reward brands with distinctive identities that make quality and creativity the founding elements. In Italy there is this extraordinary heritage of companies which, however, are often unable to grow due to a lack of critical mass, capital, technology, management and synergies – assets that only a large group can guarantee”.

The figures of the operation have not been disclosed, but the negotiations between the Tarabini family (owners of Blufin) and Marchi took place privately and without the intermediation of the banks.

Blufin, in addition to Blumarine, also owns the brands Blugirl, Anna Molinari and Be Blumarine. In 2018, the group recorded consolidated revenues including royalties on licenses amounting to 33 million euros generated 40% from the domestic market and 60% from international markets.
