Fashion: Confindustria and Mittelmoda together for young talents

The two companies have signed a collaboration agreement - The most important initiative concerns the 26th edition of the "International Lab of Mittelmoda - The Fashion Award" competition, which involves over 650 fashion schools and academies from 60 countries

Fashion: Confindustria and Mittelmoda together for young talents

Helping young talents from the Italian fashion system to enter a sector that will need at least 50 more workers in the coming years. This is the purpose of the memorandum of understanding signed on April 3 between Confindustria Moda and Mittelmoda International Lab.

The agreement provides for the organization of a series of initiatives, the main one being the “International Lab of Mittelmoda – The Fashion Award” competition, now in its 26th edition. Every year the event involves over 650 fashion schools and academies from 60 countries and starting this year it will also have special focuses on bags, shoes, eyewear, accessories, fabrics and materials, as well as traditional clothing and knitwear products.

Students will be able to send their applications and register for the competition by 15 May 2019 on Mittelmoda site. The award ceremony will take place in Milan on 16 September, on the occasion of the next edition of Micam, one of the most important international footwear exhibitions.

“One of the main objectives of the Federation is to enhance and support the training of specialists from the entire Italian fashion system, especially at a time like this in which there is a great need for technical skills - commented Claudio Marenzi, president of Confindustria Moda – The goal of this partnership with the Mittelmoda Association is to attract new talent, rewarding their creativity and commitment with one of the most prestigious awards in the sector at an international level and to continue to keep a sector that is the pride of the country great”.

According to Matteo Marzotto, president of Mittelmoda International Lab, “the link with the world of production further strengthens a brand that has been committed to maintaining contact with fashion schools around the world for 26 years. A by now traditional appointment with a strong international appeal for all fashion scouting specialists”.
