Fashion, Pitti Uomo kicks off in Florence

Fashion, Pitti Uomo kicks off in Florence

Kicks off today, as always at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, the ninety-first edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, the men's fashion show which sees 1.220 brands parade in the Tuscan capital, 540 of which are foreign, under the guiding theme of "Pitti Dance Off", which celebrates the freedom and versatility of dance and contemporary fashion. This year the event presents “a new male attitude to combine formal and techno-sports-functional aptitude as well as a very diverse range of guests ranging from established brands as long as they present innovative projects to young Italian and foreign talents. In accordance with Pitti's habit of scouting and internationalization”, explains the CEO of Pitti Immagine Raffaello Napoleone.
 
Among the consolidated brands launching new projects, here is the young line of Zegna, Z Zegna, designed by Alessandro Sartori, the king of British style, Paul Smith who engages with technology in the PS line by Paul Smith, the US icon Tommy Hilfiger who launches his digital performance . Among the youngsters, the award-winning Belgian-American Tim Coppens, the London-based English duo Cottweiler who design for Reebok, the Italians Carlo Volpi and Lucio Vanotti but also the Koreans of Concept Korea, the Japanese brand Sulvam, the American section.

However, it will not be only the fashion shows that will enliven the four days in Florence (the event closes on Friday 13 January): there are many events not to be missed including parties, cocktail parties and inaugurations (here is the official calendar of events). Among the VIPs present Andrea Bocelli, Morgan and the actress Caterina Murino.
