Electric mobility: Utilitalia and Motus-E, agreement for dissemination

E-Distribution and Utilitalia have signed a protocol of agreement which intends to commit distribution network managers and e-mobility market operators to work together towards a common goal: the diffusion of electric mobility. In a context that will see parallel to the progressive electrification of consumption, the simultaneous need to optimize and make the use of electricity distribution networks more flexible.

In detail, the signatories shared the mutual desire to identify coordination proposals and initiatives to facilitate the achievement of the targets set by the NECP and from PNRR. The proposals identified are aimed at adopting a systemic and efficient approach to the subject of connection to the electricity grids of charging columns, which makes it possible to rationalize the use of existing distribution networks and the economic resources available for investments, while ensuring the maximum diffusion of recharging points for electric vehicles.

Among the proposals, it appears necessary to adopt a method of uniform and homogeneous coordination on the national territory between the Charging Point Operator (CPO) and Electricity Distribution Network Operators (DSO), responding to general criteria which, through cooperation between the various players, allows the identification of the most suitable sites to host the charging stations. In fact, the objective of the cooperation is to make it easier and accelerate the possible optimal and shared choice of sites, also through the development of digital solutions, also going to favor the areas in which the network is already more prepared to accommodate recharging infrastructures.

The commitment undertaken to immediately support interventions of optimization of the administrative process: in particular, the intent to raise awareness and collaborate with the municipal administrations right from the preliminary stages of preparing tenders for the construction of electric charging stations, in order to optimize the choice of sites.

Lastly, in order to encourage the rapid diffusion of charging stations on public land, the signatories agreed on the importance of promoting simplification actions in the field of authorization with regard to the institutions concerned.
