Twenty-nine deadlines to be postponed: from the one for interventions in the field of social safety nets for precarious workers to the one for the execution of evictions concerning particular disadvantaged social categories.

The Budget and Constitutional Affairs commissions of the Chamber are at work on the milleproroghe law decree, approved by the Council of Ministers on 23 December last. Twenty-nine articles (thirty with the one that fixes the date of entry into force) for as many postponements of deadlines.

Among the terms extended, the one to 31 December 2012 for some interventions regarding social safety nets for precarious workers, apprentices and coordinated and continuous collaborators, as well as regarding occasional ancillary work and permanent hiring; as at 31 December 2012, the execution of evictions concerning particular disadvantaged social categories residing in provincial capitals, in neighboring municipalities with a population of more than ten thousand inhabitants and in high-voltage residential municipalities; as at 30 June 2012 the provisions intended to prevent abusive practices of the taxi service and the rental with driver service; on 2 April 2012 the entry into operation of the waste traceability control system (Sistri), in order to allow the optimal organization by the companies involved; as at 31 December 2012 the powers of the Municipalities of the Campania Region regarding waste management; as at 31 December 2012 the attribution to the Prefects of substitute and impulse powers in order to guarantee the functionality of the local authorities; as at 31 December 2013, the right for Poste Italiane to grant discounts on postal rates for non-profit organisations; and a very long article, number 29, on some tax extensions.    

The examination, which began yesterday with the presentations of the speakers Gianclaudio Bressa (Pd) and Gioacchino Alfano (Pdl), continues today and tomorrow with the general discussion. The deadline for tabling amendments has been set for Monday at noon. By next week, the provision should be dismissed by the commissions to arrive in the Chamber.
