Russia, in particular, has seen an increase of around 20% in both the number of millionaires and their overall wealth. France overtook Britain in the top five for number of millionaires, Sweden unseated Singapore from the top 25.

According to the study, in the second quarter of 2017, 31,1% of millionaires' assets are invested in equities up from 24,8% in 2016. Fixed income remained stable at 18%, cash rose to 27,3% from 23,5%. Alternative investments such as hedge funds, derivatives, foreign exchange, commodities and private equity, fell to 9,7% from 15,7%.
