Milan wins the double challenge with Rome: Inter and Milan knock Rome and Lazio down

Roma-Milan, now it's really "overcoat". After the success of the Expo, symbol of the Milanese rebirth as opposed to the decline of the capital, all certified with heavy words by the president of the national anti-corruption authority, Raffaele Cantone, it seemed that at least on one terrain Rome could still have its say: that of football.

But no: on the weekend of the double Rome-Milan crossroads, the two teams from the Lombard capital win hands down. First Inter, who stopped the very hot yellow and reds and regained the top of the standings, and then above all the revived Milan, on which few would have bet on the eve and which instead is able to conquer the Olimpico, where until last night the Lazio had won all the games played in the league.

And so, after a summer spent in acclaiming the Pharaonic buying campaigns of the Milanese, which was however followed by a start to the season clearly in favor of the two Romans in terms of results, the weekend in which the Expo adventure ends marks symbolically the overtaking. Milan is there and is also coming back alive in football, where in recent years it has given way in an inversely proportional way to the leap in quality of the city, which starts well before and goes far beyond the Expo with the sometimes revolutionary work of the Pisapia junta.

Rome, on the other hand, has to rebuild itself, start from the rubble, but it's far from dead: the antibodies Cantone was talking about are there, at least in football. Despite the defeat at San Siro Rome remains in fact one of the favorites for the Scudetto and unlike the Milanese teams, he represents Italy in the Champions League, the most important European football competition.
