Milan doubles car sharing: the one signed by Fiat-Eni arrives

Car sharing signed by Eni arrives in Milan. The service that allows you to rent a car – even by the hour – in the city, often taking advantage of dedicated parking lots and preferential lanes. It is a fleet of red Fiat 500s and 500Ls with the longo Enjoy in yellow and white. Initially there will be 300, but the goal is to bring them to 650 by January.

The service doubles that existing in the Lombard capital already provided by Mercedes (Smart), but introducing some new features. Starting precisely from the nature of the Fiat fleet which extends the transport possibilities to 4 and 5 people (in the case of the 500L). The cost will be 25 cents per minute for the first 50 km. Then always 25 cents, but per km. In case of short stops, in order not to disengage the car, you will pay 10 cents per minute.

From a technical point of view, it will be possible to book a car through a website or app, but also to pick up one that you meet along your route. The cars will be opened with the app or with a text message, therefore without a card, while, as regards parking, you can leave your car at the end of the rental on the yellow lines for residents, free of charge in the blue ones and also in the reserved and signposted parking at the city Eni stations.

“The goal of soft mobility – said the mayor of Milan, Giuliano Pisapia – is a bet that we will have more chances of winning thanks to this strengthening. This service, which also has important innovations, will bring advantages not only to the Milanese, but also to tourists and commuters”.
The investment for Enjoy is 100% by Eni, while the partners (Trenitalia and Fiat) will come into play to varying degrees during communication and co-marketing initiatives.
