Milan – 2014 exhibition program at the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation

In March 2014, a solo show will be dedicated to the Milanese artist Cecchini in the spaces of the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro in Milan, with a nucleus of works specifically designed for this event.
Alongside the activities carried out in the new exhibition space in Via Vigevano 9 in Milan, the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation continues its action in support of the research of young artists with the establishment of the "Arnaldo Pomodoro Award for sculpture
tura” which connects to the previous editions and presents some novelties: the prize is proposed as a permanent observatory on the panorama of contemporary artistic research and every two years it identifies a young sculptor who has reached the gates of his artistic maturity. The prize, a sort of acknowledgment for his career which has already started, consists in the organization of a personal exhibition at the exhibition space of the Foundation, as well as a cash donation.

For the year 2014 the “Arnaldo Pomodoro Prize for sculpture” has been assigned to Loris cecchini (Milan, 1969), for his ability to elaborate a complex multidisciplinary language, mainly directed towards the investigation of
models of habitation of space and relationship with reality. The architectural modifications, the dimensional distortions and the experiments of superficial perception implemented by the Milanese sculptor are characterized by a constant
dialectic between nature and artifice, between processes of deconstruction and reconstruction.

A personal exhibition will be reserved for Loris Cecchini, curated by Marco Meneguzzo, which will be inaugurated in March 2014 in the space of the Foundation in Via Vigevano 9, in which a group of works created specifically for
this occasion.

The Foundation's 2014 program will continue with an exhibition in the autumn curated by Flaminio Gualdoni dedicated to the experience of the Continuity group which, between 1959 and 1962 involved various artists engaged in the search for new expressive languages between sign and matter – among others Piero Dorazio , Franco Bemporad, Giulio Turcato, Achille Perilli, Gastone Novelli, Arnaldo Pomodoro and Gio' Pomodoro, as well as Lucio Fontana- and which coalesced around a series of exhibitions presented by Giulio Carlo Argan and Guido Ballo, in Turin, Milan, Paris , New York and San Francisco. The exhibition is part of the historical-critical investigation of the 50s and 60s in Italy, launched by the Foundation in 2013 with the two initiatives dedicated to the early days of Arnaldo Pomodoro and Enrico Baj.
