The Ambrosetti – The European House appointment dedicated to technological innovation is back again in 2015. The Technology Forum, now in its fourth edition and usually hosted in the Veneto region, finds its home this year, in the two days of meetings that begin today, in Milan, in conjunction with the 2015 Expo.
“Fostering ecosystems for innovation” is the title of the event, presented by the president of the Lombardy Region Roberto Maroni and by the managing director of Ambrosetti, Valerio De Molli. The Pirelli Skyscraper will host the exhibition: on the 31st floor of the new headquarters of the Lombardy Region, some of the international leaders in the world of innovation and technology will meet, with the aim of helping to relaunch economic growth and create an ecosystem of 'innovation.
A mission consistent with the guiding objectives of the Lombardy Region, the first productive region of Italy and the fourth industrialized region of Europe. "Bringing cutting-edge technologies to traditional industrial sectors and enhancing innovative SMEs: this is a strategic priority for Italian industrial policy," said De Molli.
How to make it? It is one of the questions answered by the Technology Forum, where the same DeMolli presents the 2015 Report – elaborated by the Innovation and Technology Community – and where the participating CEOs will be able to discuss with the speakers selected by The European House – Ambrosetti in eight countries (Italy, United States, South Korea, Israel, Switzerland, Sweden, France and Germany ), as reference models in the four sectors that determine the success of ecosystems for innovation: research, finance, business and institutions.
“However, the capacity for innovation cannot be improvised – explained Valerio De Molli -, but must be built over time by coherently assembling a plurality of components, starting from an educational system that pushes young people towards a culture of entrepreneurship and of self-responsibility".
The program, which includes several thematic working tables, this year includes speakers such as Aneesch Chopra, first Chief Technology Officer of the United States and former aide to President Obama; Yongmin Kim, president of Pohang University of Science and Technology, South Korea; Peretz Lavie, president of Technion and one of the founders of sleep medicine; Isaac Getz, Professor of Leadership and Innovation at ESCP Europe in Paris; Yossi Matias, Vice President of Engineering at Google Search and Managing Director of Google R&D in Israel; and, among others, the Minister of Education and Research Stefania Giannini.
