Interesting online auction proposed by Sotheby's Milano, objects from 300 to 90.000 euros. A way to approach collecting modern art with affordable investments.

Milan, online auction of contemporary art multiples

From the 15 to the 18 June 2018, Sotheby's Milan offers an online auction entirely dedicated to a collection of 75 multiples by contemporary artists.

The attention of collectors is mainly placed on the work "Insicuro Noncurante" from 1975 by Alighiero Boetti estimated €70.000 – €90.000. The work consists of an intact container with the 81 works (prints, collages, photographs and drawings) plus one original work. An edition of “Insicuro Non Curante” is in the permanent collection of the Tate Modern in London and has been exhibited at the MoMA in New York. Also by Boetti, we find “Fascicolo 104 (Postal Dossier)”, a conceptual work from the 70s (estimate €6.000 – €8.000).

Arte Povera is also interesting, well represented by a group of artists including: Luciano Fabro with “De Italia” performed in 1972 (estimate €15.000 – €20.000), Giulio Paolini with “L'Exile du Cygne” from 1984 (estimate €300 – €500), Giuseppe Penone with “Alfabeto” from 1972 (estimate €8.000 – €12.000) and Gilberto Zorio with “ODIO”, 1973 (estimate €10.000 – €15.000).

Lucio Fontana is present with two small theatres: “Concetto Spaziale (WHITE THEATER)” and “Concetto Spaziale (BLACK THEATER) dated 1968, both with an estimate of €10.000 – €15.000. While for Piero Manzoni there are two works “Corpo d'Aria”, (estimate € 20.000 – € 30.000) and “8 Tables of “Accertamento” composed of eight framed elements by the artist.

Among the works of international artists we find a complete portfolio of 10 works by Man Ray (estimate €3.000 – €5.000), “La Boite à Pandore” a work created between 1952-1973 (estimate €2.000 – €3.000) and “Priape”, a white marble from 1972 (estimate €1.000 – €2.000).

Not missing Joseph Beuys with “Grüne Geige” a violin painted and signed on the back from 1974 (estimate €15.000 – €20.000) and Jesùs Rafael Soto with the work “Petite Vibration Brique et Noire” (estimate €5.000 – €7.000).

Finally a group of colored "pumpkins". Yayoi Kusama from 2002. The work “Pumpkins” consists of 5 elements in painted resin and cardboard boxes (estimate €12.000 – €18.000).
