Milan, Paolo Scaroni (ex Eni) will be the new president

Paolo Scaroni, a long-time top manager who has always been close to Silvio Berlusconi and former CEO of Eni and Enel, will in all probability be the new president of Milan. He is expected to be crowned by the shareholders' meeting scheduled for July 21.

After having been, as Rothschild's vice president, the advisor of the Chinese Li to whom Fininvest sold Milan, Scaroni was instrumental in convincing the Elliott fund to grant the Chinese property a loan of 303 million by virtue of which today the American fund he finds himself temporarily at the helm of the Rossoneri club.

Leonardo should return to Scaroni's side, a candidate to become AC Milan's sporting director, while a showcase position would be reserved for Paolo Maldini.

The new board will include managers already involved by Elliott in the Telecom operation, namely the former CEO of Alitalia, Rocco Sabelli, and the general manager of Salini, Massimo Ferrari. Elliott will also bring Giorgio Furlani and Frank Tuil to the board.

Obviously Rino Gattuso will remain the coach of the team, who must face the risk of excellent exits such as that of Leonardo Bonucci, paid in gold to Juve a year ago but now attracted by the sirens of PSG and Chelsea
