Milan or Inter, who gets the Scudetto? Today is Final Judgment Sunday: here are the line-ups

In the late afternoon of today, the fate of the hardest-fought championship of the last twenty years will be decided. Milan are masters of their own destiny and a draw is enough for them to win the Scudetto – Fiorentina in the Conference League

Milan or Inter, who gets the Scudetto? Today is Final Judgment Sunday: here are the line-ups

Judgment day. After yesterday's aperitif, which she saw there Fiorentina beat the Juventus and take the last place for Europe at the expense of Atalanta (defeated at home by Empoli), the time has come for the main course, or rather the assignment of the hardest-fought Scudetto of the last 20 years. In fact, to find one still poised on the last day, you have to go back to 5 May 2002, a date that evokes bad memories for Inter, overtaken by Juve in the photo finish, but at the same time advises Milan to keep their antennas raised.

Sassuolo-Milan (18pm, Dazn)

The Devil has been in control of his destiny for several weeks, but this time he can end the game altogether. The away game of Reggio Emilia, in a Mapei Stadium almost entirely for the Rossoneri (18 fans in tow, out of a total of 21 seats), it is the most important event in the last 11 years, i.e. since the last Scudetto won. To accomplish the mission, it is enough not to lose, in the light of the direct confrontations in favor of Inter, but it is clear that Pioli cannot set the game on this concept alone, otherwise he would risk venturing into unexplored and therefore insidious territories.

Pioli loads his own: "It's time to finish the job"

“Up until now we've been the best, but we'll have to be the best again this time – explained the Rossoneri coach at the press conference -. We prepared for the match well as we always have, it doesn't count what we did up until yesterday, but what we will be able to do in Reggio counts. We have a good opportunity and we have to complete the job, a difficult game awaits us, they won't give us anything like no one has ever given us anything up to now. We've always interpreted matches well, every match has its own story, we'll have to be careful of certain situations and find their weak points."

Pioli is still betting on Krunic and Saelemaekers

You don't change a team that wins, so Pioli will confirm Milan from the last few games, with Krunic attacking midfielder and Saelemaekers on the right. The setup penalizes Bennacer, a fundamental player for large stretches of the season, but guarantees solidity and balance, as well as a great leeway for left-handed arrows Hernandez and Leao. In short, at the Mapei Stadium we will see a 4-2-3-1 Milan with Maignan in goal, Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori and Hernandez in defense, Tonali and Kessié in midfield, Saelemaekers, Krunic and Leao in the frontline, Giroud in attack, with Ibrahimovic and Rebic (but also Bennacer and Messias) ready to take over from the bench. Dionisi, yesterday in press silence to avoid malicious questions, will respond with the same game system with Consigli between the posts, Muldur, Chiriches, Ferrari and Kyriakopoulos in the back department, Lopez and Frattesi in the midfield, Berardi, Raspadori and Traoré behind the single point Scamacca.

Inter-Sampdoria (18pm on Dazn)

The main field is certainly Mapei, but a piece of the Scudetto is also played San Siro. Of course, Inter are not masters of their own destiny and in the event of a victory or a draw for Milan, they would still finish second, but the match against Sampdoria must be won at any cost, at least to avoid adding further regrets to those that already exist. The match doesn't seem to present any particular pitfalls, especially as the Blucerchiati are safe and calm, but in these cases there is a risk of concentrating only on the other pitch and the Nerazzurri must absolutely avoid it.

Inzaghi: "Let's try, but the season will be positive regardless"

“We have to focus only on what depends on us, that is Sampdoria – thought Inzaghi -. They are a team free of head and mind, who played their best match in recent months against Fiorentina. Our destiny doesn't just depend on us, it depends on this race, which we have prepared with great seriousness. We want to reach 84 points and have no regrets, in any case this has been a season in color and not in black and white as some thought. We won cups, played a good game, we reached the last XNUMX of the Champions League and we're here to fight for the Scudetto on the last day…”.

Inter-Samp, Inzaghi focuses on Dzeko and Lautaro

For the last season of the championship, the Nerazzurri coach will rely on the typical team, especially since they are all available except for Gagliardini. The ordinance 3-5-2 will see Handanovic in goal, Skriniar, De Vrij and Bastoni in defense, Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu and Perisic in midfield, Lautaro and Dzeko in attack, with Sanchez and Correa ready to take over the match in progress. Little to ask instead for Giampaolo's Sampdoria, who however will try not to make a bad impression by relying on a 4-5-1 with Audero between the posts, Bereszynski, Ferrari, Yoshida and Augello in the back, Candreva, Rincon, Vieira, Thorsby and Sabiri in the midfield, behind the lone striker Quagliarella.

Salvation race: Salernitana-Udinese (20.45 pm, Dazn) and Venice Cagliari (20.45 pm, Dazn and Sky)

The fight for the title attracts attention, but the one for salvation is also decidedly hot. Nicola's Salernitana will face Udinese in a completely exhausted Arechi, with a 2-point advantage over Cagliari, on the field of the already relegated Venezia. However, the grenades cannot afford a draw, because in the event of a level finish, as there is no superiority in direct matches, the goal difference in favor of the Sardinians would be worth (+7). It will therefore be an evening full of emotions, because if it is true that Salernitana in the last month is easily able to win, it is also true that the pressure will be strong, indeed very strong, while Cagliari shouldn't have too many problems conquering the disheartened Venice. We'll see what happens, with the only certainty that, starting tomorrow, the championship will go on holiday, ready to concentrate its emotions solely and exclusively on the transfer market.
