Milan ko also against Cinderella Verona

Complete flop of Brocchi's team that already makes Mihajlovic regret: after taking the lead through Menez, the Rossoneri had themselves come back in Verona from the bottom of the class (2 to 1) and now they also risk losing qualification for the Europa League because they are sixth with a single point advantage over the effervescent Sassuolo

Milan ko also against Cinderella Verona

Another flop, yet another of a foolish and bankruptcy season. The defeat against Hellas drags Milan to the lowest point of 2016, both in terms of the game and the result. It is not yet the time to bring out the "fatal Verona" but it certainly will be if the Rossoneri have not conquered sixth place on May 15th, the last profit to enter the Europa League.

Sassuolo is there breathing down their necks (1 point between the two) and given the different state of form (the Emilians have just won in Turin) there are all the premises to fear overtaking. The knockout of Bentegodi puts Cristian Brocchi in the dock, whose contribution to the cause, for the moment, has been completely insufficient. Other than a psychological shock and a good game, this Milan 4-3-1-2 version is even worse than Mihajlovic's, which is already anything but satisfactory.

“I am the coach and I assume all the responsibilities – the coach commented. – The team misinterpreted the match, this defeat is heavy because we weren't able to turn the lights back on. We just have to work, work and work again…”.

Placing all the blame for such a flop on Brocchi alone would however be ungenerous and unintelligent. The AC Milan crisis has been dragging on for a long time and cannot be blamed on a coach who has arrived 15 days ago, moreover without any experience parachute to help him.

If an alien had landed from Mars and had seen the Bentegodi match, he would have found it hard to believe the 31 points that separated the two teams before kick-off (there are now 28…), unless they had told him that Verona had the white shirt and Milan the yellow and blue one.

And to think that Brocchi's team took the lead first thanks to Menez and the line assistant, who didn't react much in not noticing the Frenchman's offside (21'). The 1-0 seemed to put the game down but Verona, as the minutes went by, realized they could still have their say.

In the 72nd minute Pazzini equalized on a penalty (handball by Romagnoli) and from there began a real Hellas siege, only stopped by an amazing Donnarumma. However, even the very young goalkeeper had to surrender to Siligardi's free-kick (93), a jewel that was not enough to avoid the mathematical relegation (with Carpi's victory, Serie B is official) but which gave a smile to all of Bentegodi.

Obviously the opposite mood at Milan, where between bizarre ideas (for a few hours the return of Mihajlovic was even feared, a hypothesis then returned), perennial confusion and listless players can no longer understand anything. Except that the team, dressed like this, can lose against anyone.
