Milan, unexpected suicide in the Cesarini area (1 to 2 with Fiorentina) which could cost the Scudetto

The unexpected home defeat against Fiorentina (1-2) could cost the Rossoneri the scudetto – The mockery in the 89th minute for a goal by former Juventus player Amauri – Milan pays for the hardships and disappointments of Barcelona and now, after the he elimination from the Champions League and the misstep in the league, Allegri's Milan are afraid to finish the season with "zeru tituli"

Milan's suicide took place in the 89th minute of a match that everyone took for granted. That wasn't the case, and the classic twist was broadcast at San Siro, which could be decisive for the Scudetto. In fact, now the "command of operations" is in the hands of Juventus, which has one point more than the Rossoneri and the advantage of direct matches in favor. Mathematically speaking, everything is still very open, God forbid, but the feeling left on matchday 31 is that Milan are in reserve while Juve are traveling without problems. In this sense, the week we are about to experience could be decisive: the Rossoneri will be back on the pitch on Tuesday, against a Chievo who, on paper, shouldn't create many problems. But it should have been the same yesterday against Fiorentina, but that wasn't the case. And now Milan are really afraid of finishing the season with "zeru tituli".

THE MATCH

Aware of having to face the barricades, Allegri chooses a heavy attack to undermine the defense of Fiorentina. Inside Maxi Lopez alongside Ibrahimovic, with Emanuelson attacking midfielder and Robinho on the bench. For the rest of the line-up announced, with Zambrotta replacing the bruised Antonini and the "usual" midfield, made up of Nocerino, Ambrosini and Muntari. Delio Rossi, on the other hand, lines up his players with a 3-5-2 formation, which however becomes 5-3-2 every time Milan attacks. To put the Rossoneri in difficulty, the Viola coach chose the fast Jovetic - Ljajic duo, with Amauri on the bench. After a few minutes it becomes clear that it's not the day for Milan. Slow, awkward, tired and, perhaps, listless, the Rossoneri never manage to make themselves dangerous, so much so that the first chance of the match is for Fiorentina with Jovetic touching Abbiati's post. Milan tries to wake up with a free-kick from Ibra that Boruc rejects right on Muntari: the Ghanaian kicks incredibly wide from an excellent position. The match continues without jolts until the 30th minute, when the referee Celi assigns a penalty kick (debatable) to Milan for an alleged hold by Nastasic on Maxi Lopez. Allegri thanks, Ibrahimovic displaces Boruc and gives him the advantage. The match takes on an all-Milan inertia and in the 39th minute Maxi Lopez finds the ball to close it, but his left foot hits the post. The teams thus go into the locker room on one to zero, a result that changes as soon as the second half restarts. Abate misses an offside and Jovetic finds himself face to face with Abbiati: 1-1! Milan throw themselves into the purple half of the pitch, but the rhythms are what they are, as are the ideas. Allegri tries to shake him off: Ambrosini in Aquilani and shortly after Robinho takes over the dull Emanuelson. However, the result didn't change, because the Rossoneri built little and badly and Fiorentina tried to play only as a throw-in. In the 32nd minute Rossi removes Ljajic and inserts Amauri, a move that will prove to be decisive a few minutes later. In fact, in the 44th minute, with Milan completely unbalanced in the Viola half, Fiorentina started on the counterattack and, helped by an out-of-time intervention by Mexes, found the sensational opening goal with Amauri, his first goal of the season. Thus it ended amidst the discouragement of the Rossoneri crowd, only partially mitigated by the return to the field of Cassano, who took over from Zambrotta in the 39th minute.

THE REACTIONS

So much bitterness for Massimiliano Allegri, who however did not want to make drama: “Unexpected defeat, complicated match thanks to Fiorentina, we felt tired, but once we had the lead we conceded the equalizer too soon. There was a bit of a rush to go and win this game, that's why they made long balls while I asked for short passes”. However, the Rossoneri coach does not think that the defeat is the result of the elimination of Barcelona: "We immediately forgot the elimination against Barça, more than anything else it was a waste of energy. We were too messy and hasty in looking for the goal, naive in conceding the 1-1. The only thing that could have been done was to get back on the field better in the second half, that's not how it happened unfortunately that's how it went, you have to accept defeat and resume with malice”. A lot of happiness instead in the Fiorentina house, with Amauri unexpected man of the match. However, the Italian-Brazilian does not want to think even for a moment about Juventus: “I did Fiorentina a favor, three fundamental points for Fiorentina, after all I don't care about anything. I am very happy, after a long time of suffering, I dedicate this goal to my wife with whom we will celebrate 10 years of marriage tomorrow".
