Milan in full crisis: it also loses against Sampdoria

Fourth consecutive defeat for the Rossoneri, pierced at San Siro by Sampdoria with a penalty procured by Quagliarella and scored by Muriel – Milan are now in eighth place and if they don't win against Bologna on Wednesday they can say goodbye to their dreams of Europe

Milan in full crisis: it also loses against Sampdoria

Milan is officially in crisis. The suspicion, already quite strong after last week's three defeats against Napoli, Juventus and Udinese, became a certainty yesterday, when the Rossoneri also lost at San Siro against Sampdoria. The paradox is that the game is much better than it was a couple of months ago, but the problem is that the results no longer arrive and now the ranking is definitely getting complicated.

Wednesday's match in Bologna becomes fundamental: making a mistake too, in fact, would mean moving away from the Europa League area, the minimum seasonal goal of Via Aldo Rossi.

“It is a crisis of results, not of play – explained Montella bitterly. – There is a lot of regret about losing a match like this, we created a lot and I really have nothing to reproach the boys for. This result penalizes us but we mustn't give up: if we continue to play like this we won't lose any more games, I'm sure of that. With this mentality we will arrive in Europe, one hundred percent”.

The technician tries to look at the full side of the glass but there is no doubt that something is no longer working as before, it was also luck in taking the episodes from the right direction. Milan have won only one match in their last seven league matches, picking up a paltry 5 points: an average that doesn't go well with the club's European ambitions, forced to face the first real crisis of the season.

Yesterday's 0-1 is the result of a mistake by the Zapata-Paletta couple (the former loses a bloody ball, the latter commits a completely useless penalty foul on Quagliarella) which Muriel capitalized on to the max (70'), but also of an inaccuracy in front of goal not attributable only to bad luck.

Deulofeu's post and Lapadula's mistake face to face with Viviano are real errors, confirming that the team, despite an undeniable organization of the game, has not indifferent qualitative limits.

The goal problem is becoming chronic, as is the futility of the one who should guarantee several of them: yesterday Bacca ended up going around in circles too, completing his afternoon with yet another negative reaction at the time of the substitution, daughter of the frustration of those who he knows he is at fault (only two goals scored in the last 4 months) and the boos of a now hostile San Siro.

The eighth place in the standings means staying out of Europe but the compactness of the same leaves all scenarios open: as long as you start racing again as soon as possible, otherwise you will find yourself experiencing yet another sad and disappointing season.
