Milan and Inter, Scudetto at the photo finish: the Rossoneri are just one point away from becoming Italian champions

Milan and Inter, Scudetto at the photo finish: the Rossoneri are just one point away from becoming Italian champions

All postponed to the last day. Sunday in the championship did not assign any verdict, but now the Scudetto depends almost entirely on Milan. The victory over Atalanta and Cagliari, in fact, leaves the +2 in the standings unchanged (which is then a +3 given the direct matches) with only one match remaining, when the Rossoneri will visit Sassuolo and Inter will host Sampdoria. A point would give Pioli the mathematical certainty of being champion of Italy, while Inzaghi, in addition to taking full loot against the blucerchiati, will have to cross his fingers and hope for a misstep that would rightfully enter the history of Italian football.

Scudetto race: one point is enough for Milan to celebrate, but Inter won't give up

Milan felt that yesterday could be the decisive day and expectations were partially met. Inter won in Cagliari, all right, but the win over Atalanta is really heavy, one of those destined to leave a mark on the championship.

There is still the possibility that this is not the case; after all, Serie A has already given sensational twists on the last day, but the Rossoneri show no sign of subsiding, charged to a thousand with a Scudetto prospect born as a dream and become, victory after victory, a rather concrete reality.

Yesterday too, faced with an Atalanta highly motivated by the fight for Europe, the Devil kept his nerve, striking at the first useful moment with Leao (56', protests by the Nerazzurri over a possible foul by Kalulu on Pessina) and, subsequently, closing the games with Theo Hernandez, amazing in getting the ball all over the pitch before beating Musso (75').

In the evening Inter responded present, conquering Cagliari with a clear 3-1 (goal from Darmian and brace from Lautaro), showing great personality and mental strength, but the substance does not change: Milan have their destiny in their hands and the Nerazzurri all they can do is cross their fingers and hope for a miracle.

Pioli: "It's not over yet, we need the last effort"

"The work is not finished yet, we have to do another week as we have done so far, with serenity and determination - Pioli glossed over in the press conference - I am very satisfied with the match, we worked very well in the defensive phase against the team that creates more in Serie A, then we looked for many different solutions up front, without ever losing our clarity and stopping believing in them. This victory is a reward for all my players, what makes me most proud is their availability, I can make them do what I want on the pitch and they like this way of preparing for matches, it's a great satisfaction. Now another week of work and passion, then maybe we'll do something different…”.

Inzaghi: "We'll try to the end, Sassuolo are an excellent team..."

“We needed a serious match and it wasn't easy after Milan's victory, but we played a great match against an often problematic opponent at home – thought Inzaghi – We did well after a 120 minute final and it was absolutely not obvious. Hopes in Sassuolo? It's a great team, with great individuals. It will be one last open day, we will have to try until the end, we are here and we want to play our chances. We need a victory and their defeat, it's clear that it's difficult, but I won a Scudetto like that when I played for Lazio...".

Juventus-Lazio: 20.45 pm, Dazn and Sky

The day will end with Juventus-Lazio and Sampdoria-Fiorentina, both very important in Europe. In fact, the Biancocelesti and Viola have a great opportunity to qualify for the next cups, especially since neither the Bianconeri nor the Blucerchiati (except mathematically thanks to Inter's victory over Cagliari) have particular goals in the standings.

Allegri: "We want to greet Chiellini and Dybala with a victory"

"It's the last one at home, we have to honor it in the best possible way, it will be Chiellini's party and the last one at Dybala's home - Allegri retorted - We didn't win anything this year, but we achieved qualification in the Champions League which is not banal. Having said that, it's useless to complain now, you have to shut up and think about next season and start working already. What vote do I give? These are trivial questions, but when you're at Juventus, the ultimate goal is to win…”.

Juventus-Lazio, the formations

The Juventus coach will soon have the opportunity to take care of the future, especially as the transfer market circulates interesting names (Pogba above all), but in the meantime he wants to beat Lazio and to do so he will rely on a 4-4-2 with Szczesny in goal, De Sciglio, Bonucci, Chiellini and Pellegrini in defense, Cuadrado, Zakaria, Arthur and Bernardeschi in midfield, Dybala and Vlahovic in attack.

Sarri, highly motivated by conquering Europe at his former team's home but forced to do without the injured Immobile, will respond with the usual 4-3-3 with Strakosha in goal, Lazzari, Patric, Acerbi and Marusic in the back , Milinkovic-Savic, Leiva and Luis Alberto in the midfield, Felipe Anderson, Cabral and Zaccagni in the offensive trident.
