Silvio Berlusconi's response to Bee Taechaubol has not arrived, which basically could mean two things: the Rossoneri president makes himself desired, or he has decided to say no to the Thai broker's offer. In the background there is always Richard Lee, a Chinese entrepreneur even sent by the Beijing government, and this, according to many, is not a secondary detail. In short, the mystery thickens. What is certain is that Berlusconi and Mr Bee did not see each other yesterday, despite the fact that the appointment was taken for granted by all insiders. It had already been understood that there were hitches in the afternoon, when the broker, against all odds, returned to his Milanese hotel instead of heading towards Arcore. Meanwhile, all of Fininvest's staff had gathered at Villa San Martino: in addition to Silvio and Barbara Berlusconi, Fedele Confalonieri, CEO Pasquale Cannatelli, general manager Danilo Pellegrino and the head of company acquisitions Alessandro Franzosi were present.
Everything seemed perfectly set for the meeting with Mr Bee, who was in turn waiting (with some nervousness, according to some sources) for the official invitation. But that never arrived, essentially leaving everything as before. Today, at this point, will be the decisive day. The Thai broker is still in Milan, a sign that the meeting is still on the agenda. However, it is clear that he won't wait forever, also because his offer is already on Berlusconi's table: 500 million for 60% of the club, and not for 51 as was said on Wednesday. All waiting for an answer, fans in the first place. In fact, the rumors about what the new Milan could be abound. Mr Bee, also supported by Chinese investors, would be thinking of a total revolution with Marcello Lippi as technical director and Fabio Cannavaro as coach. A strange choice at first glance, a little less if you consider that the pair did very well in China, a market of primary importance for the new consortium. Another hypothesis, decidedly less folkloric, would like Galliani's confirmation for at least another year, in a sort of "forced" coexistence with Paolo Maldini and Barbara Berlusconi.
Only possibilities, at least for now. The feeling is that Berlusconi senior, before accepting the offer, wants to wait for Richard Lee's moves: a question of money, but also of projects. Both will be needed to relaunch today's disastrous Milan, which has now sunk into the quagmire of a crisis that is difficult to resolve. It is no coincidence that Adriano Galliani, the only one left to deal with the technical area, has decided to confirm Inzaghi at least until the match in Naples. The changeover with Brocchi seemed certain, then, in the early afternoon, the retreat: forward with Pippo, more out of necessity (the season is already largely compromised) than out of conviction.
