Milan, Berlusconi distrusts Allegri that only by winning in Udine will he save the bench

The phone call that gets Massimiliano Allegri in trouble came in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. Silvio Berlusconi, furious after the home draw against Anderlecht, called Adriano Galliani. An interview in which we talked above all about the coach from Livorno, who is now increasingly on the sidelines of Milan. The patron, who has never really loved Allegri, even thought of an immediate exemption, but the Rossoneri CEO managed to convince him to wait any longer, at least until the match in Udine.

Trust in the term therefore, which however smacks of distrust. In fact, Berlusconi is inclined towards a change at the helm and only a good victory in Friuli will be able to change his mind. In the meantime, however, the full coaching has already started, with the internal solution Inzaghi-Tassotti in pole position, for a whole series of reasons. First of all the economic one, which in times of austerity like these definitely shifts the balance, then for the emotional one, which moreover goes hand in hand with that relating to popular consensus, which has always been Berlusconi's thermometer. The Milanese people are disheartened and resigned and Superpippo Inzaghi could really rekindle the spark, or at least earn some leniency in judgements. Yesterday another hypothesis filtered through, also very suggestive: Rafael Benitez. At the moment, however, it does not appear that the former Inter coach has been contacted, also because here the costs rise significantly, but the possibility remains tantalizing, therefore not to be discarded a priori.

In all this hubbub of names, Allegri works to hold on to a bench that is definitely slipping away from him. The match in Udine will be fundamental for him, which is why the coach is contemplating an unprecedented technical-tactical revolution. The formation will change, but it is not yet known whether Milan will play with a 4-4-2 (with Abate and El Shaarawy tall outside and De Sciglio in defence) or with a 4-3-3 (Bojan and El Shaarawy wide with Pazzini central point). A real laboratory of ideas to save the job. But are we sure that will be enough?
