Migrants: Italy-France-Germany agreement

Important step forward for Italy in the management of migrants, which is becoming more dramatic every day. In view of Thursday's European summit in Tallinn, Interior Minister Minniti yesterday in Paris obtained the green light from his colleagues from France and Germany and from the European Union for a text that regulates the flows of migrants differently and tries to stem them .

In the first place, foreign NGO ships will have to stay out of Libyan waters and will not be able to get too close to the African coast in rescue operations at sea. Secondly, the Italian Coast Guard will assume a stronger coordination role starting from the assumption that the one with Libya is understood to be the border of Europe and not just Italy.
Thirdly, the relocation plan for migrants arriving in Italy and Greece will be relaunched.

The text, which aims to reduce landings, will be finalized by France and brought to the Tallinn summit.
