Microsoft's restructuring plan provides for the cut of up to 18 jobs over the next year. This was announced by an email from the managing director Satya Nadella, sent to employees of the US giant and published on the company's website. Among the cuts, 12.500 are the result of the union of the IT group with the mobile phone division of Nokia, acquired last April and which had brought the total number of employees to over 120.
The plan, therefore, calls for a 14 percent cut in Microsoft's workforce and is expected to result in total gross charges of $1,1-1,6 billion, including costs related to benefits and severance pay.
