Microsoft launches the new Msn

An all-new MSN, completely redesigned and which combines content from the world's leading publishers with a series of productivity tools. Based on the idea that life-enhancing knowledge and information should always be accessible – no matter where you are or what device you're using – the new MSN has landed on the web and will soon be available for all major platforms ( Windows, iOS and Android). Starting today, users around the world can try this new experience online by visiting preview.msn.com.

“MSN has always given great importance to content, and Microsoft has in its DNA the enhancement and empowerment of people. The new MSN is capable of reconciling these two identities: MSN combines a rich offer of information from the most authoritative sources with a set of tools capable of helping users to fully enjoy their passions, anytime, anywhere, regardless of the chosen device. – declared Claudio Semenza, Executive Producer for Italy of ICE, Information and Content Experiences of Microsoft -. We completely re-imagined the MSN experience: the result was a customizable product, always in sync on all devices and perfectly integrated into a new world that puts mobile and cloud first”.

The most popular and most complete contents

MSN boasts prestigious partnerships with the most authoritative international media, including New York Times and CNN, Condé Nast in the United States, The Yomiuri Shimbun and The Asahi Shimbun in Japan, Guardian and Telegraph in Great Britain, NDTV and Hindustan Times in India, Le Figaro and Le Monde in France, Lance and Estadão in Brazil, and many others.

With 10 sections including sports, news, health and wellness, finance, travel and video, among others, the new MSN offers a global overview, drawing on input from thousands of publishers from around the world. The information ranges from news to the economy, from sport – with the latest news from over 200 championships – to food and wine, presenting, among other things, the reviews of over one and a half million wines and more than 300.000 carefully illustrated recipes. MSN's editorial team is able, with over 1000 sources available, to offer users interesting content, specific to different markets and cultures.

To know more, to do more

The new MSN offers useful information and the possibility of being consulted wherever people are and decide to "do" something: from using personal productivity tools - such as the shopping list, checking flight status or calculating incoming and outgoing – to integrated access to services and social networks such as Outlook.com, Facebook, Twitter, OneNote, OneDrive and soon also Skype. At the top of the page, a personal band enables access to the main services with a single click, so that what is happening in one's life is always at hand.

The integrated tools cover eight categories that allow the user to drill down, plan, execute and track the activities of greatest interest. On the news front, for example, it is possible to set the topics to follow and find the latest news and innovations relating to these topics. It is also very easy to search for your favorite recipe and, once found, you can transfer the ingredients to a shopping list with a single click, which will follow the user from the PC or tablet to the mobile phone apps, in perfect synchronization. The user will thus be able to take the list with him without having to transcribe or print it.

Personalization and availability on any device

An essential and fresh design makes it easy to find and make the most of the most relevant content for the user. It is also possible to customize the layout by managing and reordering categories and interests. The new MSN therefore allows you to organize in a simple and immediate way what you want to see, regardless of the device used. In the coming months, the offer will be enriched with the launch of a suite of MSN applications for Windows Phone, iOS and Android. It will be sufficient to set the preferences only once and the topics of interest will always be available, synchronized on each of your devices. In the Money section, for example, the stocks included in the favorites list will be shown with the relative updates in the same way on the web and on the corresponding apps. It will also be possible to set a specific news source as a preferred source (for example: more news from the New York Times).

Changes and updates are saved even when set from the phone, so no matter where you start, your preferences and interests will remain in effect on whatever tool you use without any additional configuration. By setting your favorite cities for the weather service or your favorite sports teams, all relevant information and updates will always be available, on your PC in the office, on a Windows 8.1 tablet at home or on your iPhone when on the move.
