Microsoft buys Minecraft for 2,5 billion

Microsoft has acquired Mojang, the Swedish video game company best known for having conceived and developed the video game Minecraft, which allows its players to create imaginary worlds in which to move and share them online with other people.

The operation cost the US giant 2,5 billion dollars: the definitive transfer of ownership should take place by the end of this year, compatibly with antitrust checks. In economic terms, for Microsoft it is the most important acquisition since 2013 of the division of Nokia that deals with smartphones, which cost over 7 billion dollars.
