Weather, heat truce: rains and cool weather also in the South

The African heat wave is over: in the North it has already been raining since Monday with almost autumnal temperatures, between Wednesday and Saturday the bad weather will hit the whole peninsula – Sunny and warm again over the weekend, but normal.

Weather, heat truce: rains and cool weather also in the South

After a few days of great African heat, this summer is back to "normality", characterized since the month of June by very abundant rains (especially in the North-West and in the South, and in Sicily) and by temperatures overall not excessive, indeed perfectly average and in some cases, between June and July, even below. And it will be like this again in the next few days, after the interlude of a few days with sultriness and a thermometer close to 40 degrees: in the North the rains started on Monday and have already brought a nice refresh, with the thermometer dropping by 10 degrees, so well below the seasonal averages (in some areas of Piedmont, Trentino and Friuli, even in the plains, the maximum is below 20 degrees…). The same fate awaits the Center-South, where abundant rainfall is arriving and there too the heat will be easing, even if less than in the North and in any case it won't rain everywhere.

Bad weather in the Center-South should persist for several days, probably until Saturday. Also noteworthy, for those on holiday, particularly rough seas, especially in Sardinia. In the meantime, the sun will return to the North and the mercury column will begin to rise again (and God forbid, we are theoretically in the hottest period of the year and in some regions it seems like autumn...), but with maximum temperatures largely within the norm, around 30 degrees or even less. Both in the North and in the South, however, to review a sustained heat we will have to wait for the weekend, when the sun will shine again everywhere. Although apparently not even in that case, as well as for most of this one "strange" summer made of thunderstorms and very normal heat, there will be a torrid and unbearable heat. That, for now, will remain a rarity.
