Weather: thunderstorms in the North, still sultry in the South

Thunderstorms in the North and still very hot in the Center and South. While in Northern Italy we have been breathing for a few days and a new perturbation is arriving which will keep the maximum temperatures around 30 degrees, i.e. more in line with the seasonal values, the millions of Italians who live from Florence down and on the islands will still have to wait a few days.

To arrive at a completely refreshed Italy, you have to wait for Friday or perhaps even Saturday, the time for the bad weather front arriving in the North to make its effects felt, descending, on the rest of the Peninsula. And the effects will in any case be reduced, given that it shouldn't even rain in the South and temperatures should drop by only a few degrees, in any case granting a welcome respite from the sultriness that has been suffocating the country for the past two months.

The climate until Thursday/Friday will therefore still remain very hot in the Islands and in the Centre-South, with maximum peaks between 35 and 40 degrees. Lower values in the Northwest, with 26°C expected on Tuesday in Turin and Cuneo, 30°C in Milan and 32°C in Brescia. The hottest cities these days will be Rome, Florence and Perugia with around 37°C, Taranto and Sassari with 39°C, Trapani and Oristano with 40°C. The night just passed was very hot and characterized by considerable discomfort in many areas of central-southern Italy: in Rome, Viterbo and Crotone the minimum temperature was 23°C. Recorded at dawn 25°C in Lecce and Naples and even 28°C in Taranto.
