Weather: thunderstorms in the North, mid-August cools everywhere

Once the umpteenth African heat wave of a torrid summer has been archived, the Italians can breathe a sigh of relief: on August XNUMXth, actually even earlier in the North, storms arrive and therefore the cool. Of course, the weather may not always be sunny and the millions of holidaymakers will not be enthusiastic about it, but for everyone (and above all for those who are in the city to work…) this means temperatures returning to the seasonal average, no red dots, no alarms for health, for the environment, for crops.

So with all due respect to those who would like 24-hour sun on the beach, the first thunderstorms arrive in the North between Monday and Tuesday and the maximums return to civilian values, around 30 degrees or just above. Not to mention the lows, one of the big problems of this summer, especially in big cities where the trend is increasingly towards nighttime heat, with unbreathable air until 2 in the morning in some cases and the mercury column unrealistically marking 25- 26 degrees: in the next few days, it will return to 20-22 at the most.

Wednesday bad weather and especially the fresh air will gradually move towards the Centre, while it will still be very hot in the South, with peaks still close to 40 degrees in some cases (especially Sicily and Calabria). On Thursday, on the other hand, on August 30th, the weather will be unstable practically everywhere, even if the rainfall will still be basically concentrated in the north of the country. Even in the South, however, the maximum temperatures will drop to normal values, around XNUMX degrees.

The cool weather, with the residual thunderstorms, will also persist on Friday 16 August. For the weekend, however, it is not yet known: as is known, an authoritative and non-alarmistic meteorological forecast does not go beyond 3-4 days.
