The weather forecast for the long weekend of April 25 depicts Italy split in two. The Air Force weather service predicts that today, April 23, the sky in the North will be very cloudy or overcast with widespread rainfall over all regions, especially over the Po Valley, Liguria and the western Alpine areas of Piedmont. In the afternoon it should also rain in the northern areas of Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The precipitations could also be intense and of a downpour or thunderstorm nature, but in the evening they will tend to concentrate close to the mountainous areas.
In the Center, many clouds over Sardinia, peninsular Tyrrhenian regions and Umbria, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Clouds also increasing over the Adriatic regions, but with weaker rainfall. In the evening the weather improves almost everywhere, except for residual accumulations and local showers in Tuscany.
As for the South, clear or partly cloudy skies over Sicily, while over the other southern regions the cloudiness will remain irregular, with some showers on the innermost areas of the peninsular regions, decreasing in the afternoon.
WEATHER 24 APRIL
For tomorrow, Wednesday 24 April, the Air Force weather service forecasts a day still characterized by widespread cloudiness with rains a little everywhere in the North, but less consistent in the Po Valley in the Veneto region, in particular in Emilia Romagna, where, however, they will arrive even partial lightening. In the evening the rainfall will be heavier in upper Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta and northern Lombardy.
Clouds will arrive in the Center over all regions, but some more substantial thickening will insist on upper Tuscany, where showers will still be possible during the morning, and on Sardinia, where there will be some weak showers in the afternoon.
In the South, clear or partly cloudy skies except for some locally more compact clouds in the Apennine areas.
WEATHER 25 APRIL
Finally, to date the Air Force predicts that on April 25 the sky will be very cloudy in the alpine areas with scattered rainfall, extending to the central-eastern piedmont areas during the afternoon, with encroachment on the plains. Variability in the rest of the North, but with a tendency to increase in cloud cover at the end of the day.
In the Center and in Sardinia, good weather except for temporary clouds in the early morning over lower Lazio and during the afternoon on the Apennine ridge, where local showers are not excluded.
Serene or partly cloudy sky over Sicily. Clouds in transit over the southern peninsular regions, except for some locally more compact clouds over the Apennine areas of Calabria.
