Weather: rain in the North, still warm elsewhere

After the record heat of the last few days, with temperatures close to 40 degrees almost everywhere, the first respite is coming, at least in the North: the drought will be interrupted by heavy storms, in some regions there is also alarm for possible inconvenience.

Weather: rain in the North, still warm elsewhere

From one emergency to another. After the record heat that characterized the month of June (the hottest since monitoring exists), now at least in the North there is a respite, even if there is the risk of severe thunderstorms on Sunday, especially in Alpine regions , Lombardy and Veneto. This is good news for the drought, which has been afflicting the northern regions for months, but the Civil Protection has issued a moderately critical weather warning.

Heavy rains are expected from Sunday morning over the whole of Lombardy, Veneto and most of the Alpine areas, with showers also in Liguria, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Emilia Romagna. In Milan, the levels of Seveso and Lambro are monitored.

If the North therefore has a respite from the heat (temperatures will drop by an average of 7-8 degrees in the big cities), the same cannot be said of the rest of the peninsula, which will remain in the grip of the heat for a few more days. the rest of the country will be able to breathe at the end of next week, starting Thursday when cyclone Circe will arrive which will always worsen mainly in the North but also in part of the Centre.
