An Italy still split in half is expected for Thursday 18 August weather: North under water, South in the grip of hot african with temperatures up to 46 degrees perceived due to the suffocating heat. In fact, on the one hand we find the African anticyclone, on the other, on some stretches of the North, the weather will begin to show signs of worsening due to the approaching Atlantic perturbation. In the Northwest, above all, strong storms will arrive gradually moving towards the rest of the north.

Weather forecast for Thursday 18 August: Italy divided in two

Perceived temperatures will reach into the Calabria the 46 degrees in Tropea (Vibo Valentia) 44 degrees White (Reggio Calabria). Levels above the seasonal average also in Lazio, Marche and Abruzzo, with 44 degrees perceived in Rome, Ascoli, Pesaro, Ancona and Montesilvano (Pescara). Above 40 also Puglia, Sicily and Sardinia with peaks of 43 degrees in Molfetta (Bari), Capo d'Orlando (Messina), Marsala (Trapani), Olbia and Villasimius (South Sardinia). According to the Ministry of Health, only Palermo has a red dot, orange stamp for the heat in Rome, Perugia, Rieti, Bari, Campobasso, Catania and in Romagna. On Friday the situation should improve, but for the real truce we have to wait for Saturday 20th August.

In the North, precipitation will already be associated with a significant drop in temperatures, gusts of wind and hail on Thursday morning. The situation will worsen further from the afternoon with other thunderstorms, even very strong ones, which will move from the western sectors to the eastern ones in the evening. Yellow alert in Liguria, Trentino, Friuli-Venezia Giulia e in Emilia-Romagna, in particular on the western sector where hailstorms, gusts of wind and possible water bombs are expected. In Rome, very hot in the morning, but intense thunderstorms are possible in the evening. In the South, on the other hand, the day will be characterized by a predominantly clear sky over all regions and above all a suffocating heat.

Friday 19, still bad weather in the North, while the situation in the Central South will begin to change, with scattered thunderstorms, even intense ones. Sunny skies with pleasant temperatures are forecast for the weekend.
