Weather, new alert in Liguria-Tuscany

The wave of bad weather that has hit Italy in recent days has not subsided. The level 6 weather alert issued by the regional civil protection for the provinces of Genoa, Savona and La Spezia was triggered at 2 this morning in Liguria until midnight today. The state of alert has been confirmed in Imperia, in whose province the state of alert 1 remains.

Yesterday a violent storm hit Genoa, causing some flooding and various problems for motorcycle traffic. In the capital, but also in most of the Region, the closure of schools, public parks and cemeteries and the suspension of open-air markets have been ordered.

As for Tuscany, due to the weather alert, schools will be closed on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 November throughout Versilia, including Viareggio. This was decided by the Union of Municipalities, which met as soon as it heard the news from the Region. The civil protection recommends maximum attention: the entire Tuscan coast (but above all the area of Massa Carrara and the archipelago) could be affected in these hours by strong disturbances.
