Weather: snow in the North, but no emergency

Cold weather and the first snowfalls in northern Italy, but so far no crisis, either on the roads or in train traffic. The first flakes fell in Liguria, Piedmont, Lombardy, in the Pavia area and on the Alessandria-Piacenza railway line. Snow also in Tuscany, on the Pisa-Livorno, on the Lucca-Aulla, on the Pontremolese and in Emilia Romagna.

Snow a Milano, but for now it is a non-alarming precipitation, like the one that has been whitening since 8 GenoVa e Torino. At the moment the announced "Big Snow" does not create particular inconvenience, despite all the precautionary measures taken (schools closed, stops for trucks, train restrictions).

The situation in the rest of Italy is different. The perturbation preceding the incoming one produced abundant snowfalls in a large part of central-southern Italy, with peaks of 3 meters on the Sila, creating quite a few problems.

Meanwhile, the Viminale has asked the prefectures of 11 regions (Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta, Liguria, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trentino Alto Adige, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Marche and Umbria) to block the movement of Shoot starting Sunday evening until 22pm.

Trenitalia, on the other hand, warns that convoys on railway lines could be reduced, especially in Liguria. Alitalia has forecast for today a reduction in the number of direct and departing flights from Milan Linate airport, while the other companies operating at the Milanese airports are ready to reduce their activity by 30%.
