Weather: rainy mid-August in the centre-south, serene in the north

The weather forecast for mid-August doesn't bode well. According to Air Force Meteorological Service, a new perturbation will hit Italy on Wednesday 15 August. The bad weather will particularly affect large areas of central and southern Italy.

In detail, the mid-August weather predicts many clouds in the early morning over Emilia-Romagna, central regions and southern Tyrrhenian coastal areas, which could bring showers or thunderstorms. In the second part of the morning the bad weather will move to the rest of the south, easing in Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany.

Let's see what the Air Force's mid-August weather forecasts predict for the different areas of Italy.

NORTH JUTLAND

In the North, residual thunderstorms are expected over the lower Veneto and Emilia-Romagna during the morning, with a marked improvement in the early afternoon. Prevalence of large clear spaces over the rest of the north.

CENTER AND SARDINIA

In the Center the weather forecasts for August are more inclement. In fact, there is talk of even intense showers and thunderstorms in the Marche, eastern Umbria, Abruzzo and, in a less accentuated form, in Lazio. The weather, however, will improve during the course of the day.

Isolated phenomena are also expected in the inland areas of Tuscany, in a context that will, however, see large areas of calm over the region.

Finally, very cloudy skies over Sardinia, with rain and local thunderstorms that will subside after sunset.

SOUTH AND SICILY

As far as the South is concerned, the mid-August weather speaks of very cloudy or overcast skies with rains and thunderstorms ranging from scattered to more frequent in Molise, Gargano Puglia, Campania and western Sicily, extending to the rest of Puglia and Basilicata during the afternoon.

Isolated phenomena are also expected in Calabria and northern Sicily. A general improvement should come in the evening.

TEMPERATURE

Decreasing lows in the Alps, eastern Emilia-Romagna, central and southern regions; increases expected instead on Liguria and the Po Valley.

Highs markedly rising in the North, but also in upper Tuscany and northern Sardinia. There was also a marked decline in the rest of the central regions and in the southern peninsular regions and to a lesser extent in Sicily.
